This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to orders placed with Gotham City Holdings LLC, doing business as Gotham Compounds (“Gotham,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It forms part of our Terms of Service and must be read with our Shipping & Delivery Policy and Research Use Only Policy.
All products are supplied exclusively for lawful, non-clinical laboratory, analytical, and scientific research.
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, Gotham does not accept change-of-mind, preference, surplus, convenience, or other discretionary returns.
Because Gotham cannot verify product integrity, storage, contamination control, or chain of custody after delivery, Gotham voluntarily authorizes a physical return only for an approved, evidence-supported shipping-damage claim, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
No product may be mailed or transported back unless Gotham gives written, product-specific authorization and the return can be completed lawfully and safely.
A temperature concern alone does not authorize a physical return.
Gotham does not charge a restocking fee under this Policy.
Customers do not have a general discretionary right to cancel an order after submission.
Where applicable law gives a customer a cancellation election, Gotham will record the election and effectuate the cancellation and required refund on its side.
Gotham may hold, reject, or cancel an order for:
Verification failure;
Prohibited use;
Product or destination restriction;
Pricing or availability error;
Payment failure;
Safety or compliance concern;
Suspected diversion; or
Inability to fulfill lawfully.
This restriction does not eliminate a cancellation or refund right that applicable law does not permit Gotham to waive, including a right arising from a legally required shipment-delay notice or failure to ship within an applicable period.
Subject to verification, Gotham will review a claim that:
Accepted merchandise was not shipped or delivered;
An order contains an incorrect product or quantity;
A product arrived damaged, leaking, compromised, or visibly defective;
A product or label does not match the accepted order;
A lot number does not match the released lot documentation supplied for the order; or
A shipment is otherwise materially nonconforming.
Eligibility for review does not mean a physical return is accepted and does not predetermine the remedy.
Gotham may resolve an eligible claim with a refund, replacement, correction, cancellation, safe-disposition instruction, or another lawful remedy without accepting the product back.
Contact support@gothamcompounds.com promptly after discovering visible damage, shortage, an incorrect item, or a mismatch.
A delay in reporting does not eliminate a right or remedy that applicable law does not permit us to limit, including a latent issue that could not reasonably have been discovered earlier.
Provide:
The order number;
The product name, quantity, and lot number;
The delivery date or expected delivery date;
A clear description of the issue; and
Reasonably available photographs of the shipping label, outer package, inner packaging, product label, lot number, and damage or discrepancy.
If a parcel is leaking, emitting vapor or odor, visibly contaminated, or presents an immediate hazard, do not open, repackage, transport, or mail it.
Move away, prevent access if safely possible, follow applicable label or safety-document emergency instructions, and contact appropriate local emergency or hazardous-material authorities.
Contact Gotham when it is safe to do so.
Do not use any product that appears damaged, leaking, altered, contaminated, mislabeled, temperature-compromised, or mismatched to its lot documentation.
Quarantine it and preserve the product, package, labels, and documents pending written instructions.
Do not send a product back without written return authorization and product-specific handling instructions from Gotham.
Gotham voluntarily authorizes a physical return only for an approved, evidence-supported shipping-damage claim, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
An unauthorized return may be refused where permitted by law.
The Dover mailing address in this Policy is not a return address.
If a physical return is authorized, Gotham will provide the exact return destination, carrier method, packaging, and handling instructions in writing.
If safe and lawful shipment cannot be verified, Gotham may direct a no-return remedy or refer disposition to an appropriately qualified carrier, waste provider, or safety authority.
Returned, recovered, leaking, damaged, compromised, temperature-excursion, mislabeled, or lot-mismatched product will be segregated and will not be returned to sellable inventory.
A replacement may be issued only after the claim and available evidence are reviewed.
Purchaser, destination, product eligibility, and Research Use Only status must be reverified before shipment.
A replacement record will link the original order and claim to the replacement product, lot-specific documentation, shipment, and resolution.
Gotham may decline a replacement and issue another lawful remedy when inventory, eligibility, safety, destination, or compliance considerations make replacement inappropriate.
Approved monetary refunds will be returned to the original payment method.
If that method cannot accept the refund, Gotham will use a documented, Finance-approved alternative consistent with applicable law.
Gotham will initiate an approved refund promptly within the period required by applicable law.
Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to post the funds.
For a partial-order refund, Gotham will calculate the merchandise amount by affected line and apply the related discount, tax, and shipping allocation consistently with the original order and applicable law.
Processor fees will not be deducted from a customer refund.
Chargeback recovery is handled separately to prevent double recovery.
Gotham does not substitute store credit for a monetary refund required by law and does not offer store credit under this initial Policy.
If Gotham does not ship an order, an applicable refund will include the amounts required by law, including shipping and handling where required.
If only part of an order is shipped, any shipping refund will be calculated consistently with how the original shipping charge was determined and applicable law.
Any written return authorization will state the approved carrier method and who bears the return cost.
Gotham will pay or reimburse that cost whenever applicable law requires.
Original shipping, expedited-service charges, and required tax adjustments will be handled consistently with the original order, the verified claim, and applicable law.
Gotham may restrict an account or hold, reject, or cancel an order when a return or refund request indicates fraud, diversion, prohibited use, unauthorized resale or transfer, or an attempted bypass of purchaser-verification or Research Use Only controls.
Evidence of post-delivery mishandling may affect a claim only to the extent it caused or materially contributed to the claimed loss and applicable law permits.
It does not automatically eliminate a remedy for Gotham’s failure to ship, an incorrect shipment, or merchandise that was nonconforming when delivered.
Nothing in this Policy limits a warranty, remedy, cancellation right, or other right that applicable law does not permit Gotham to limit.
